Laurens Schlicht is one of three programme directors at the Käte Hamburger Centre CURE, overseeing the research focus on nature/culture. He studied philosophy and history at the universities of Magdeburg and Frankfurt am Main. Following that, he worked in a number of interdisciplinary contexts, including the Art History Institute in Florence – Max Planck Institute, the graduate programme “Laboratory Enlightenment” (Jena), the German Historical Institute (Paris), the Science History Team (Frankfurt University), and the Institute for Cultural Studies (HU Berlin). Most recently, he served as a visiting professor in place of Markus Messling at the Chair of Romance Literatures and Comparative Literary Studies.
