PROGRAMME

On 1 December 2025 at 8 p.m., Rhinozeros. Europa im Übergang (Rhinozeros. Europe in transition) – the cultural journal and yearbook of the Käte Hamburger Centre for Cultural Practices of Reparation (CURE) – will mark its fifth anniversary with a public celebration at the Saarländisches Künstlerhaus in Saarbrücken. The evening will include conversations about the journal’s founding vision and present-day role in society, with contributions from editors Franck Hofmann, Markus Messling, and Christiane Solte-Gresser, as well as Andreas Rötzer from the leading trade publisher Matthes & Seitz Berlin. The event will also launch the journal’s fifth volume, devoted to the theme of lying and lies, and include a reading of poems written by Nobel laureate Herta Müller, while Rhinozeros caricaturist and illustration professor Friederike Groß will contribute live drawings. A reception with drinks following the programme will offer an opportunity for exchange and conversation.
