Maria-Anna Schiffers is the managing editor of the yearbook Rhinozeros: Europa im Übergang (Rhinozeros: Europe in transition) at the Käte Hamburger Centre CURE. Before this, she worked as academic staff at the Chair of Romance Literatures and Comparative Literary and Cultural Studies under Markus Messling at Saarland University. In 2020, she curated and organized the Rhinozeros salon Welt reparieren/Thinking Through Repair at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW) in Berlin, supported by the Allianz Kulturstiftung. From 2018 to 2023, she completed her PhD at the University of Potsdam, supervised by Ottmar Ette and Markus Messling, with a 2023 dissertation titled Den Spuren von Tieren folgen: Tier-Mensch-Relationen in spanisch- und französischsprachigen Erzähltexten des 21. Jahrhunderts (Following the tracks of animals: animal-human relations in Spanish- and French-language narratives of the twenty-first century). She studied political education, Spanish philology, and Romance literatures at the University of Potsdam and the University of Seville.
